Don’t confuse our production methods with others that only refill your empty cartridge or

provide “do it yourself kits”, which result in poor print quality, high defect rates and low page yields. All of our Penn-Mar INK remanufactured cartridges are electrically tested, cleaned, and refilled using the highest quality ink available. Prior to being packaged, our cartridges are weighed and print tested to ensure you receive a quality product.

At Penn-Mar, our remanufactured ink jet cartridges are sold for at least 30 to 50% below the original equipment manufacturer’s prices, thereby saving you money.

When I receive my cartridge, what should I do?

Open your printer and gently remove the old cartridge being careful not to touch the print heads. Once that space is cleared, take the recycled cartridge out of its box and remove the clip. Gently slide the cartridge into the slot where the old cartridge came out from. Continue as outlined in your printer owner’s manual.

When I replaced my cartridge, a warning appeared.

Some printer manufacturers try to discourage remanufacturing because they loose money by recycling. Some of these manufactures add warnings to their software however using a remanufactured cartridge is just as safe as using a new cartridge.

When should I replace my cartridge?

The best time to replace your cartridge is before it runs out of ink. Otherwise the cartridge may dry out making it harder to recycle. Usually you can tell if your cartridge is running low because the colors begin to fade or ink begins to streak. If you wait too long and the cartridge dries completely, it may damage the cartridge and make it impossible to recycle. When you notice this, that is the best time to place your order and return your used cartridge to be recycled.

How should I package my used cartridge for recycling?

For Black Inkjet cartridges, the best thing to do is to carefully remove the cartridge from your printer being very careful not to force it out. Once removed, place the cartridge in a zip lock bag. It is helpful to include a moist paper towel to help keep the cartridge from drying out. Try to keep the cartridge at room temperature or in a cool environment as direct sunlight may cause damage. For color cartridges, it is best to package them back in the original box it came in. If the box is not available, you may use a zip lock bag however please gently wrap the cartridge in a paper towel to avoid color contamination. For both black and ink cartridges, if the original recycling clip is still available, it is best to re-clip the cartridge before packing. Never try to use tape to seal cartridges or touch the print head as this may cause damage.

How soon should I send my old cartridges in?

As soon as possible. The longer the cartridge sits, the harder it is to remanufacture.

How often can cartridges be refilled?

If a cartridge is cared for properly, it can generally be refilled approximately five to six times.

Do I have to send in my cartridge in order to make a purchase?

No. We do prefer that you submit your cartridge for recycling and may receive a discount by doing so however it is not required.

Will I get my original cartridge back?

Penn-Mar cannot guarantee that the cartridge you receive will be the cartridge you donated for recycling however Penn-mar will guarantee its quality.

How should I care for my printer?

Follow the instruction manual that you obtained with your printer purchase. There should be no difference in the maintenance and care of your printer.

How soon should I install my remanufactured cartridge?

The general recommendation is to begin using your refilled cartridge within two months.
